Warranty & Care : Protecting and Preserving Your Outdoor Furniture

Aluminum furniture is known for its durability and low maintenance requirements, making it a popular choice for outdoor settings. To keep your aluminum furniture looking its best:

  • Regular Cleaning: Wash all dust and dirt off frames with soap and water. Use a soft-bristled brush to gently remove any dirt that does not come off by spraying the frames with water. Regular dish soap (e.g., Dawn) will suffice. Be sure to rinse away any remaining soap residue. Avoid using any chemical products unless confirmed by the manufacturer as suitable for outdoor furniture.
  • Stain Removal: Acidic liquids such as bird droppings should be cleaned quickly to avoid leaving permanent stains.
  • Powder Coated Finish: To extend the lifespan of the powder-coated paint finish, Protégé recommends using a Clear Coat Matte Finish spray. Apply the spray evenly ONE TIME per year (in the spring) and allow it to dry before putting the furniture outside.
  • Drying: After cleaning, use a soft, dry cloth to polish the surface if needed. Ensure that the furniture is thoroughly dried to prevent water spots and streaks.
  • Winter Covering: Covering your patio furniture when it’s not in use is recommended to prolong its life and maintain its appearance. While modern patio furniture is designed to withstand various weather conditions, covering it provides extra protection, especially in harsh winters. We suggest covering your furniture or storing it in an enclosed shed or garage. Cushions should be covered or stored away from moisture to prevent mildew. Additionally, using a soft blanket under the cover can help absorb moisture and protect the powder coating on table tops. This approach will help preserve the finish and ensure your furniture looks great when you use it again in spring. PC Outdoors offers Vinyl Waterproof furniture covers tailored to fit specific pieces for optimal protection
  • Warranty: Protege Casual provides a 7-year warranty on aluminum frame structural failures and a 3-year warranty on the finish, covering peeling, flaking, or blistering under normal residential use.

Proper care and maintenance, along with appropriate winter covering, will help preserve the sleek look of your aluminum furniture and ensure it remains a stylish and functional part of your outdoor space for years to come.

  • Durability & Maintenance: Wicker furniture is a stylish and versatile option for outdoor spaces. With proper care, it can remain durable and attractive throughout the year.
  • Regular Cleaning: Wash all dust and dirt off the frames with soap and water. Use a soft-bristled brush to gently remove any dirt that doesn’t come off by spraying the frames with water. Make sure to rinse thoroughly, removing all soap residue. Avoid using chemical products, as they can damage the wicker fibers.
  • Stain Removal: Clean up spills and bird droppings promptly to prevent stains. A soft cloth and a mild soap solution work well, but never use abrasive cleaners or scrubbers, as they can harm the woven material.
  • Sun Protection & Cushion Use: Wicker products can be left outdoors all year round, but we highly recommend covering them when not in use, especially during the winter months. Excess sun exposure may cause fading over time. Additionally, always use wicker products with the required cushions. Direct pressure on the woven wicker without cushions can cause it to loosen or unravel.
  • Winter Covering: While outdoor wicker is designed to withstand various elements, it’s best to cover or store it during harsh weather conditions. PC Outdoors offers Vinyl Waterproof covers tailored to fit your specific wicker pieces for optimal protection. Storing the furniture in a shed or garage during winter will help further prolong its life.
  • Protege Casual Warranty: Protege Casual provides a 3-year limited warranty on wicker frames. Damage such as dents, scratches, marks, and tears to fabrics or fibers that occur during normal use are not covered by this warranty.

Sintered stone tabletops are the ultimate choice for outdoor use due to their exceptional durability, UV resistance, weatherproof properties, and effortless maintenance.

Regular Cleaning:

  • Wipe with a soft cloth or sponge using warm water and a mild detergent.
  • Rinse thoroughly with clean water and dry with a microfiber cloth to prevent streaks.
  • Avoid abrasive pads or steel wool, as they may dull the surface over time.

Stain & Spill Removal:

  • For everyday spills like coffee, wine, or oil, clean immediately with a pH-neutral cleaner.
  • For tougher stains, use a mixture of warm water and mild dish soap or diluted vinegar.
  • If needed, use a non-abrasive household cleaner such as acetone or rubbing alcohol for stubborn marks.

Heat & Scratch Protection:

  • Sintered stone is highly resistant to heat, but using trivets or hot pads under extremely hot objects is recommended.
  • Always use a cutting board instead of cutting directly on the surface to prevent micro-scratches.
  • Do not drag heavy objects across the surface to avoid scratching.
  • Avoid impact from sharp or heavy items, as extreme force can cause chipping.
  • Use felt pads or rubber bumpers under accessories to prevent surface marks.

Weather & UV Resistance:

  • Sintered stone is UV-resistant and will not fade or discolor under the sun.
  • It withstands extreme weather conditions, including rain, snow, and frost.

Winter Storage & Protection:

  • While sintered stone is weatherproof, covering it during winter will help prevent dirt buildup and maintain its appearance.
  • If storing for the season, clean the surface thoroughly and use a breathable cover to protect it from dust and debris.

Protege Warranty:

  • 3-Year Limited Warranty
Our sintered stone tabletops are backed by a 3-year limited warranty, covering:
Structural Integrity: Protection against cracking or breaking with normal use.
UV Resistance: Guarantee against fading or discoloration from sun exposure.
Weather Resistance: Protection against rain, snow, and frost damage.

  • Exclusions:
The warranty does not cover chips, scratches, stains, or damage from improper use, impact, accidents, or neglect. Proper care and maintenance are required for longevity.

  • Durability & Maintenance: Sling furniture is known for its comfort, minimal maintenance, and sleek design, making it a popular choice for outdoor living spaces. With the proper care, it can provide years of use while maintaining its attractive appearance.
  • Regular Cleaning: To clean your sling furniture, use a mild soap (e.g., Dawn) and water. Wash all dust and dirt off the frames and fabric using a soft cloth or sponge. For stubborn dirt, gently scrub with a soft-bristled brush. Avoid using any chemical cleaners, as they can damage the sling material. After cleaning, rinse the furniture thoroughly to remove all soap residue and prevent any streaks or water spots.
  • Stain Removal: Quickly clean spills and organic stains like bird droppings or food to avoid permanent marks. Use mild soap and water, and avoid scrubbing too hard to prevent damaging the sling material.
  • Sun & Weather Protection: Sling fabric is designed to be UV-resistant, but over time, constant exposure to the sun may cause fading. It is recommended to cover your furniture when not in use to help preserve its color and extend its lifespan. Sling furniture can be left outdoors year-round, but covering or storing it in an enclosed space, like a shed or garage, during winter is highly recommended.
  • Fabric Tension: Do not overload the sling material with excess pressure, as it may cause stretching or sagging. The sling can withstand 250 lbs. Always use the furniture as intended to maintain the fabric’s tautness.
  • Winter Covering: While sling furniture is weather-resistant, covering it during harsh conditions will extend its life. PC Outdoors offers Vinyl Waterproof covers specifically designed for your sling furniture for optimal protection.
  • Warranty: Protege Casual offers a 3-year limited warranty on sling frames and fabrics. This covers structural failures, but does not include damage such as dents, scratches, tears, or sagging of the sling material due to normal wear and tear or misuse.

  • Durability & Maintenance: Marine Grade rope is designed for exceptional durability and resistance to outdoor elements. It’s the same rope used to secure boats to docks, making it ideal for outdoor furniture exposed to various weather conditions.
  • Regular Cleaning: To keep your Marine Grade rope furniture looking fresh, clean it regularly with a mild soap and water solution (e.g., Dawn). Use a soft-bristled brush to gently scrub the rope, ensuring all dirt and debris are removed. Rinse thoroughly to remove any soap residue, and let the furniture air dry completely. Avoid using chemical cleaners, as they may degrade the rope’s fibers over time.
  • Stain Removal: Spills, bird droppings, or any other stains should be addressed promptly. Clean using mild soap and water, taking care not to use abrasive cleaners that could damage the rope fibers.
  • Sun & Weather Protection: Marine Grade rope is designed to be UV-resistant, but to ensure its longevity, it is recommended to cover your furniture or store it in a shaded area when not in use. While Marine Grade rope is made to endure harsh conditions, covering the furniture during winter will extend its lifespan.
  • Avoiding Overloading: While the rope is highly durable, avoid placing excessive weight or pressure on it to prevent unnecessary stretching or fraying. Using the furniture as intended will help maintain the structural integrity of the rope.
  • Winter Covering: PC Outdoors offers Vinyl Waterproof covers that are tailored to fit your Marine Grade rope furniture for added protection during the off-season.
  • Warranty: Protege Casual offers a 3-year limited warranty on Marine Grade rope components. The warranty covers structural failures but excludes damage such as fraying, cuts, or stretching due to normal use or improper care.

Solution-dyed fabrics, like Sunbrella and Olefin, are engineered to be durable and fade-resistant, making them ideal for outdoor furniture. Proper care will help extend their lifespan and keep them looking vibrant.

  • Regular Cleaning:
    – For routine cleaning, use a mild soap solution (e.g., Dawn) and water.
    – Gently scrub the fabric with a soft-bristled brush or sponge.
    – Rinse thoroughly to remove soap residue, and allow the fabric to air dry.
    – Avoid using bleach or harsh chemicals unless specified by the fabric manufacturer.
  • Stain Removal:
    – Blot spills as soon as they occur to avoid staining.
    – For tougher stains, refer to specific care instructions provided by the manufacturer (e.g., Sunbrella’s stain chart).
    – Always test any cleaning product on a small, hidden area of the fabric first.
  • UV & Weather Protection:
    – While solution-dyed fabrics are UV-resistant, prolonged exposure to the sun may eventually cause fading.
    – Cover or store your cushions and fabrics when not in use, particularly during harsh weather conditions, to maximize longevity.
  • Mold & Mildew Prevention:
    – Solution-dyed fabrics are designed to resist mold and mildew, but moisture trapped in cushions can still lead to mold growth.
    – Ensure cushions are completely dry before covering or storing them.
  • Storage:
    – Store fabric cushions in a cool, dry place during the off-season or when not in use for long periods.
    – PC Outdoors offers tailored covers to protect cushions and fabrics from the elements.

This warranty covers protection against loss of color, strength, abrasion, and pilling due to normal usage and exposure to outdoor elements, including sunlight, mildew, and atmospheric chemicals.
  • Exclusions:
This warranty does not cover damage caused by:
    – Fading due to excessive sun exposure beyond normal outdoor conditions
    – Staining, mold, or mildew resulting from improper care or lack of maintenance
    – Compression or deterioration of cushion fillings
    – Dirt, rips, tears, or damage from improper cleaning, harsh chemicals, or abrasive.

Protege Casual - Outdoor Patio Furniture - Umbrellas feature image

To keep your outdoor umbrella canopies in top shape and extend their lifespan, follow these care guidelines:

  • Regular Cleaning: Use a mild soap (e.g., Dawn) mixed with lukewarm water and a soft cloth or sponge to gently clean the canopy fabric. Rinse thoroughly to remove all soap residues. Avoid using any harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners as they may damage the fabric.

  • Sun Protection: Although umbrella canopies are designed to withstand sunlight, long-term exposure can lead to fading. Always close your umbrella when it is not in use to minimize prolonged exposure to direct sunlight and protect it from UV rays.

  • Weather Precautions: Close the umbrella during high winds, storms, or when not in use to prevent damage from extreme weather. Ensure the canopy is completely dry before storing or covering it to avoid mold and mildew growth.

  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store your umbrella canopy in a dry, cool place. PC Outdoors offers protective covers specifically designed to fit your umbrellas and safeguard them during the off-season.

  •  Warranty:
    • SunGarden Awning Fabric: 5-year limited warranty. This warranty covers the fabric against significant loss of color, strength, and degradation due to normal usage and exposure to sunlight, mildew, and environmental elements.

    • O’Bravia Canopies for Treasure Garden: 4-year limited warranty. This warranty ensures protection against fading, fabric weakening, and other performance issues related to everyday use and environmental factors such as UV exposure and mildew.

Both warranties exclude damage caused by misuse, improper cleaning, or exposure to extreme weather conditions.

  • Regular Cleaning: To maintain the look and performance of your fire pit, clean it regularly. After use, ensure the fire pit is cool before cleaning. Wipe down the exterior with a non-abrasive cloth, water, and mild soap (e.g., Dawn). Rinse off any soap residue with clean water and let it dry.
  • Burner Maintenance: Keep the burner free from dirt and debris. Use a soft brush or vacuum to remove dust, leaves, or other materials from the burner. This will ensure a consistent flame and proper function.
  • Weather Protection: Protect your fire pit from the elements. Always use the provided vinyl cover to shield it from rain, snow, and dirt when not in use. Exposure to moisture can cause rust or damage the burner and internal components over time.
  • Rock Curing (For River Rock Pits): Before the first use, it’s essential to cure the river rock. Remove any cracked rocks and ignite the fire pit for at least 1 hour to remove moisture from the rocks. Do not light the fire pit if the rocks are wet, as this can cause them to crack or pop due to thermal shock.
  • Winter Storage: If not using your fire pit during the colder months, disconnect the fuel source (if applicable) and ensure the fire pit is covered or stored in a sheltered location to prevent moisture buildup and rust. Do not allow water to enter the burner system. This can lead to malfunction or improper ignition. Always ensure your fire pit is dry before use.
  • Licensed Installation: Ensure your propane or natural gas fire pit is installed by a licensed gas technician to meet safety standards and ensure proper operation.
  • Proper maintenance and care will extend the life of your fire pit, ensuring it remains a stylish and functional centerpiece for your outdoor space for years to come.
  • Warranty: The fire pit’s exterior finish is covered against defects for 1 year. This includes cracking, peeling, or flaking under normal use. The warranty excludes damage caused by accidental impact, improper cleaning, or prolonged exposure to moisture.

General Exclusions:

  • The warranty does not cover damage from misuse, neglect, or failure to follow the care and maintenance instructions.
  • Any damage caused by moisture buildup, improper installation, or alterations to the fire pit voids the warranty.
  • Cosmetic wear, scratches, and chips due to normal use are not covered.

All warranty claims must be accompanied by proof of purchase, and transportation costs for repairs or replacements are the responsibility of the customer.
